All alumni in the area are encouraged to come out and help on Saturday the 10th at 9 AM (Weather Pending) as the house will re-assemble to put up the remaining panels and apply the finishing touches. If you have any further questions please contact Chapter President Mitch Jenkins or visit the Kappa Pi Alumni group on Yahoo.  AEKDB - KJ

Alumni creates the12thgate.com

3.14.08 - An alumni of the Kappa Pi Chapter, Brody McMahan, has created an interactive message board forum for all members of District 42.

The website welcomes both undergrads and alumni to join up and join in the discussion. There are forums for Rush, Alumni, and a lobby (for general discussion on all things non-kappa sigma). There is also a board for each of the district's 4 chapters, which only members of that chapter can access.

Special thanks go out to Brody for all his time and dedication in setting this website up. Go see for yourself at www.the12thgate.com

Kappa Sigma brings home title

3.10.08 - Four months after winning the Intramural Football title, a championship was again on the line, this time on the hardwood.

Entering the tournament as the #1 seed, Kappa Sigma received a first round bye before facing Sigma Nu in the semi-finals. Kappa Sig made short work of their opponent, whom they had already defeated 2 times in the regular season. In the other semi-final, Acacia needed overtime to defeat Pi Kappa Alpha, which set the stage for a rematch of the football championship.

The two teams met in Hamilton Field House with the title and bragging rights on the line, after splitting their two regular season matchups. In their win over Kappa Sigma early in the season their size in the post was the difference for Acacia.

During the first half, the two teams battled back and forth with neither team able to take a substantial lead. Defense was the key, as Kappa Sigma's athletic front line was able to frustrate Acacia's post players.

In the second half, the defense continued creating turnovers to lead to easy offensive buckets. This ignited an offensive firestorm and a Kappa Sigma lead that grew into double digits. In the face of adversity, and with a loud Kappa Sigma cheering section in their ear, Acacia soon ran out of gas and was unable to chip into the 20+ point lead. As the final buzzer sounded, Kappa Sigma celebrated another title and saw their lead in the all-school standings grow.

Congrats to the team! AEKDB -KJ

Remembering Kappa Pi 23

2.11.08 - As a new feature for the website, I would like to add a new section in memory of Brother Foster.

I would like for all of our alumni to take a few minutes and submit their favorite memories, stories, and photos. Archiving this information for future generations is the only way to ensure that Larry's contributions will always be remembered by the Chapter, even after his passing.

Please send these as soon as possible to kylejohnson03@yahoo.com, and I will post them online as I receive them. AEKDB -KJ
